Job Summary: The
Internal Auditor will provide the National Executive Council and Management
with independent and objective appraisals and audit information on financial,
operational, administrative and technical activities of the Union.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
Internal Auditor will be responsible for ensuring that the systems of the
internal controls maintained by the Union are adequate and effective to
safeguard its assets, the reliability, accuracy and integrity of
management information systems and related policies, plans, procedures and
records and their adequacy to effectively accomplish intended objectives; - The
internal Auditor shall appraise the economy and efficiency with which
resources are employed to meet objectives and recommend improvements as
required for achievement of such objectives; ensure compliance with Union
Constitution , rules, regulations, policies and procedures in order to
ascertain that the objectives of the Union are accomplished; - Detect
and prevent irregularities and abuses by conducting investigations; - Ensure
the implementation of audit recommendations to correct reported internal
control weaknesses and/ or deficient conditions and advise management and
NEC of the risks (s) assumed of not taking corrective action on reported
findings and recommendations;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Accounting
and Finance (Accounting Option) from a recognized institution; - Member
of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda. - A
Master’s Degree in any relevant field will be an added advantage - Good
interpersonal, supervisory, communication and analytical skills.
Demonstrated writing skills and attention to detail. - Ability
to communicate effectively in English. - Proficient
in use of the Accounting software. - Minimum
working experience of 7 years as Internal Auditor in a reputable
organisation; - Familiar
with laws, risks, regulations and Acts pertaining procurement, assets
management and disposal, budgeting and expenditure control and investigation
skills.
