About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save
Orphans (UWESO) is a national non-government organization which was founded in
1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children
left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS
pandemic.
About AROC Project:
With support from the United
Arab Emirates, UWESO is implementing the AROC project (Advancing Rights &
Opportunities for Vulnerable Children). The project aims at reducing vulnerability
among children who have limited access to education because of their socio
economic conditions partly caused by their migrant nature and refugee status.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    incumbent will ensure the availability of funds to support the
    implementation of UWESO‘s programs.
  • Actively
    participate in financial planning and management of funds for project
    implementation.
  • Manage
    the communications function of the organisation.
  • The
    jobholder will enhance the organisation’s visibility and manage the public
    and media relations’ role.
  • The
    Business Development Officer will also manage and supervise the
    performance of the front desk officer.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant for the UWESO Business Development Officer job placement must
    hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce,
    Entrepreneurship Studies or the equivalent. Sales or Marketing experience
    will be an added advantage
  • Three
    years’ working experience in a similar post, working with a reputable NGO.
  • Good
    managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Project
    planning & development.
  • Basic
    financial management skills.
  • Proposal
    writing skills
  • Present
    to and consult with mid and senior level management on trends with a view
    to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify
    opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will
    lead to an increase in orgainsation reach and visibility.
  • Excellent
    oral, written, editorial and presentation skills
  • Ability
    and willingness to ride a motorcycle (Valid riding permit required).
  • Adhere
    to child protection safe guarding policy
  • Age: Above 30 years.
