Uganda Business and Technical
Examinations Board (UBTEB) is one of the national Examinations Boards in Uganda
whose mandate is to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible
examinations and award Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and
Vocational professions. The Board therefore conducts Business, Technical and
Vocational examinations, including Applied Science specialties such as
Biological Sciences (Agricultural, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Bee keeping
and other related fields), Physical Sciences (Meteorology, Surveys and Land
Management, and other related fields), Cooperative, Social Development, Hotel,
Catering and Tourism.

Job Summary: The Examination
Officer Special Needs Education will perform all the functions of examinations
related to special needs education.

related to special needs education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for identification of all aspects of examinations that require special
attention like braille production, interpretation; - Work
closely with institutions in making arrangements to appoint special needs
support personnel to serve at the examination centers where there is a
candidate with special educational needs; - Responsible
for development of guidelines for candidates with special educational
needs during examinations; - Responsible
for assessing documented evidence from qualified practicing medical
practitioners regarding candidates that can be considered at the time of
registration as Special needs; - Responsible
for assessing the common categories of candidates with special educational
needs; - The
incumbent will also inspect and collect regular data from institutions on
candidates with special needs; - Participate
in the registration of Candidates with Special needs; and - Perform
any other duty assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Community
and Adult Education, Special Needs Education, Guidance and Counseling from
recognized institution. - Diploma
or Certificate in Special Needs Education will be an added advantage - At
least two years’ experience in teaching in Business Institutions or world
of work. - Ability
to work with minimum supervision - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Excellent
communication skills - High
level of integrity - Demonstrable
skills in working with people with Special Needs - Age: 25-40 years
