Job Summary: The Production
Officers will purposely to manage production, productivity, quality, safety and
other efficiencies as assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • To control a specific production line and
    people, between 100-300. 
  • PPC, Production, Planning and Control,
    Production Scheduling and monitoring
  • Co-ordination and follow up with different
    departments.
  • Oversee production of goods and ensures
    efficiency in all aspects of the production process.
  • Assigns resources and duties to the
    production staff in the facility according to the production requirements
    and competency of the staff.
  • Assists the laborers and resolves any
    conflicts that might surface during any phase of the production.
  • Communicates with the engineers and
    technicians regarding any problems in the equipment’s and gets it repaired
    to avoid any delay in the production.
  • Participates in the hiring of production
    staff and provides training on the use of equipment to the new staff and
    existing staff for new machines.
  • Working at irregular hours as well as
    weekends or holidays.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in
    Engineering background or supply chain and a degree will be of an added
    advantage
  • Three to five years of experience in
    manufacturing
  • Proficient in Manpower planning and
    management
  • Have applied knowledge of 5S, KAIZEN, TPM,
    and other manufacturing system tools.
  • Excellent command over Lean concept and
    implementation
  • Should be conversant in examining
    standards of products and making use of quality control procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under stress
    involving tight deadlines
  • Conversant with fundamental bookkeeping
    methods
  • The individual must have creative
    organizational and planning skills
  • Should be able to act convincingly and
    perform in crucial situations
  • Should have exceptional ability to grasp
    concepts easily and resolve production issues.
  • Sufficient knowledge in utilizing computer
    applications such as MS Office, Spreadsheet, Excel, ERP’s or other
    production related software
  • People skills where communication is
    essential preferably in both English and Luganda among other languages
  • Aged between 25-35 years physically
    energetic and command respect
