registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated
development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock,
Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide
    technical guidance in designing and implementing of gender related programs
    at country level.
  • Provide
    technical leadership to ensure that project activities address gender
    consideration & project activities specifically address the needs of
    women & men.
  • Ensure
    that gender is integrated and mainstreamed across the program, including
    project design, implementation and monitoring, operations, as well as in
    staff training materials, policies and procedures.
  • Pursue
    opportunities to promote the equitable professional development of women
    in assisted firms, associations, and institutions, particularly women’s
    access to livelihood opportunities, information, credit, technology,
    training and leadership opportunities.
  • Create
    and monitor the gender action plan to empower women adolescent girls and
    boys to become holistically empowered.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the BRAC International Team Leader/Gender Specialist
    job placement must hold a master’s degree in Gender, Development studies,
    Anthropology, public health or related discipline.
  • Seven
    years’ experience in implementing GBV & VAC project.
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of the Uganda legal policy & Institutional
    framework for GBV, child protection and other related policy frameworks.
  • Ability
    to supervise, motivate and inspire trust among the youth & the APR
    team.
  • Strong
    monitoring and evaluation expertise especially tracking progress.
  • Capacity
    to develop innovative and creative strategies to integrate gender
    consideration into non gender related programming.
