Job Summary: The
United States Embassy DriveCam Coordinator/Motor Pool Clerk is responsible for
a full range of program management responsibilities relating to the Mission’s
DriveCam program. Reports to and assists the GSO in managing the entire
DriveCam program under Chief of Mission authority. Monitors DriveCam website
dashboards and performs administrative functions to keep the database current.
Provides training to users of DriveCam. Monitors metrics and makes
recommendations in areas of driver improvement, coaching, awards and
discipline. The Coordinates with OBO/SHEM for additional or replacement
equipment and program requirements. Maintains all vehicle related records and
prepares essential vehicle reports for submission. Serves as the GSO Motor Pool
timekeeper. Supervision is received from the Motor Pool Supervisor. Position
has no supervisory responsibility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The DriveCam Coordinator/Motor Pool Clerk monitors DriveCam
dashboards on a daily basis. - Contacts the relevant managers and coaches for remedy of action
items such as unidentified drivers, events overdue for download, events
overdue for coaching and coaching effectiveness. - Analyzes DriveCam metrics for management reports.
- The jobholder also researches problem areas and implements
corrective action as required to maintain the DriveCam goal of a 5 star
program. - Runs regular DriveCam reports focusing on group reports and driver
related reports to monitor risky driving in accordance with post policies.
- Runs coaching effectiveness reports and makes direct recommendations
for improvement in these areas. - Runs quarterly, biennial and annual reports of the safest drivers
for post safe driving certificates, OBO/SHEM safe driving awards and post
safe driving awards. - The DriveCam Coordinator/Motor Pool Clerk also monitors and makes
recommendations to the American Program Manager for driver improvements,
disciplinary actions, and awards. - Monitors the DriveCam IT platform and troubleshoots minor problems
related to the equipment, works with ISC and OBO/SHEM to resolve more
complex connectivity and downloading issues. - Coordinates with OBO/Shem for necessary replacement of
malfunctioning event data recorders (EDRs) or requesting additional
equipment as necessary. - Oversees and supervises the fitting of EDRs and ensures these are
accurately recorded in the DriveCam database. - Performs administrative functions to ensure integrity and accuracy
of the DriveCam database. - Adds/deletes drivers, coaches, EDRs and vehicles and edits user
profiles. - Prepare and submit essential vehicle and fuel reports to GSO.
- Maintain accurate records for all vehicles, to include maintenance
records, ensure that all vehicles are properly insured, compile and
prepare ICASS billing reports, and prepare and submit time and attendance
for GSO Motor Pool. - Provides initial training and refresher training to coaches and new
users of DriveCam. - Provides briefings to new managers and department heads.
- Manages the OBO/SHEM Smith System Driver training program.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Clerk career opportunity should have completed secondary school (O and A
level) - A minimum of two years’ experience in database management and IT
management and knowledge in either occupational safety or health or
transportation management is required. Must have experience working with
customers. - Extensive knowledge of web-based databases and internet
applications. - Must have thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, and
MS Word. - Must be able to prepare and give presentations to all levels of
audiences. - Ability to analyze and interpret graphs and prepare graphs in Excel.
- Should be familiar with vehicle and mechanical terminology Must have
knowledge of general clerical procedures and familiarity with vehicle and
mechanical terminology. - Knowledge of the different agencies/sections and the drivers
assigned to each agency/section. - Good communication and persuasive skills are required.
- Must be well organized and have the ability to extract complex data
and prepare easy-to-read reports for users. Must be a self-starter and be
able to come up with original ways to improve efficiency of the program
and better ways to communicate with customers. - Must have a Ugandan driver’s license (with classes B, CM, and DL).
- Must have thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, and
MS Word. Must be able to analyze and interpret graphs and prepare graphs
in Excel. - Basic typing skill is required.
- Language Proficiency: Level III (good working
knowledge) writing/speaking/reading English is required.
