Job Summary: The
Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) Supervisor will be responsible
for the startup and ongoing SILC operations in each of their respective
operation areas/Sub-Counties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the identification, coordination, supervision and training of
    Field. Agents
  • Actively contribute in developing capacity building materials for
    business, technical and financial trainings as well as implement capacity
    building sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of the SILC groups and provide
    support to Field Agents as needed.
  • Actively participate in development of work plans.
  • Provide data collected in the field and reports as per reporting
    schedule.
  • Keenly analyze project implementation strategies to identify
    constraints to program success and provide timely recommendations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) Supervisor must
    hold a Diploma or Certificate in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics or
    Development Studies with focus on Economic Development or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in community work or rural development with
    a background in VSLA.
  • Extensive knowledge of SILC methodologies and financial tools as well
    as approaches to business-start-ups and income generating activities.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sensitivity and diplomacy in working with socially disadvantaged
    communities.
  • Keen attention to detail, ability to follow procedures and meet
    deadlines and work cooperatively with team members.
  • Good computer skills and good analytical and information management
    skills.
  • Proven skills in riding a motorcycle and possession of a valid riding
    license.
  • Knowledge of local language (Nga‘Karimojong) is a MUST.
