Director One Stop Centre
Authority (UIA), a statutory agency is mandated to initiate and support
measures that enhance investment in Uganda and to advise Government on
appropriate policies conducive for investment promotion and growth in the
country.
The Deputy Director Research and Planning will be responsible for collection
and analysis of data for input into annual/quarterly Investment Abstracts,
Investor and stakeholders’ perception reports project conversion rates, survey
reports, policy formulation and other investment related research. Also
responsible for corporate planning and development of organizational strategy
and work plans to guide the authority in Investment Promotion Strategies.
- Corporate Planning and development of
organizational strategy and work plan to guide the authority in Investment
Promotion Strategies - Ensuring Monitoring and Evaluation of
organizational performance in line with the set targets. - Ensuring the development of Electronic
based tools for surveys. - Supervision of collection and analysis
of data and preparation of Annual/Quarterly Investment Abstracts. - Supervising the carrying out of surveys
and preparation of reports on Project/Investment conversion rates. - Overseeing the collection and analysis
of data on Investor Satisfaction Survey of the one Stop Centre services
and generating Annual/Quarterly reports. - Overseeing the collection and analysis
of data for investor and stakeholder perception of UIA services and
preparation of reports for these surveys. - Interpreting the macro and micro
economic concepts in relation with performance of private businesses in
Uganda. - Keeping track of global movement of
Investment Capital. - Overseeing the compilation and analysis
of data on Macro and Micro Economic Indicators from Bank of Uganda, Uganda
Bureau of Statistics, Partners, Ministry of Finance, Planning &
Economic Development and other Government departments. - Managing an electronic-based system for
sharing of publications in the
library/resource centre.
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda
Investment Authority (UIA) Deputy Director Research and Planning job
opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics,
Statistics, Economics or related discipline - A Master’s degree in Economics,
Statistics or Financial Management - Seven years of work experience and five
years’ experience at senior management level - Survey design, data analysis and report
writing skills - Computer literacy, including knowledge
of basic research/ data analysis package - Ability to organize library information
into sector data - Deep knowledge of the global and Ugandan
business and investment environment with strong experience of developing
and managing Industrial Parks - Knowledge of the global and Ugandan
business and investment environment - Capacity to formulate relevant
electronic based tools for data collection and analysis - Ability to relate macro and micro
economic concepts with performance of private businesses in Uganda. - Computer literacy, including knowledge
of basic research/ data analysis package - Ability to organize library information
into sector data - Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
