Job Summary: The
Environment Manager will be responsible for the environmental protection of the
operation areas.
Environment Manager will be responsible for the environmental protection of the
operation areas.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keenly track Ugandan and international environmental protection laws
and regulations. - Develop long term strategic plan and annual planning of the
environmental protection. - Responsible for environmental compliance with Uganda laws and
regulations and other international best practices. - Responsible for the environmental aspects of HSE-MS and make sure
CUL HSE management system complies with ISO 14000. Coordinate internal
environmental reviews and audits of environmental management procedures. - Coordinate with government to carry out environmental impact assessment
for oil and gas development activities following IFC / IPIECA practices.
Implement ESMP for all development activities including those of
contractors. - Organize third party audit of Kingfisher environmental performances
and close out gaps. - Organize environmental reports to government, partners and internal
uses. - Develop waste management plan and programs for the treatment and
disposal of solid wastes and hazardous chemicals. - Develop and implement environmental protection training programs and
be responsible for organizing training materials and Resources. - Develop oil spill contingency plan and coordinate spill response
training. Coordinate response operations in the event of oil spill
accident. - Other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate for the CNOOC Uganda Environment Manager job
opportunity should possess a Master’s degree or above in Environment
engineering, safety engineering, engineering management, oil &
chemical engineering or the related. - Ten years of related working experience including 8 years
environmental management experience in Oil & Gas industry. - Extensive knowledge of environmental protection.
- Extensive knowledge of environment impact assessment and pollution
control technology. - Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards on environmental
protection, for onshore and offshore oil development and production
activities, and ISOI4000 environmental management system. - Understanding of the environmental protection management system in
IOC. - Understanding of oil & gas E&P.
