Job Summary: The
Intern, Reproductive Maternal New Born Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH)
Supply Chain is part of the UHSC RMNCAH team and will work in collaboration
with the Child Health and Reproductive Health Divisions, Pharmacy Department,
implementing partners and the PTA, RMNCAH to support implementation of the
pilot of the standardized national community supply chain tools and procedures.
He/She will work closely with the district health teams, health facility staff
and community health workers as well as implementing partners to build capacity
at all levels to implement the standardized tools and procedures. He/She will
also be required to travel frequently to the implementing districts to monitor
implementation.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a record of the VHTs, health
facility staff and district personnel trained to support implementation of
the standardized tools, processes and procedures, including refresher
trainings done during the routine health facility visits - Inform overall monitoring of the pilot
by maintaining a record of the performance of the community program
logistics system against the selected indicators - Regularly follow up with the
participating health facilities, parish coordinators and VHTs to ensure
smooth implementation of the interventions - Build capacity of the health facility
and parish coordinators to supervise the logistics systems at community
level in accordance with the guidelines - Participate in periodic support
supervision at health facility and community level as may be required, and
maintain a database of participants, supervision outcomes and
recommendations - Participate in data collection for
baseline and endline assessment as well as routine monitoring of the
implementation of the pilot in line with the design - With guidance from the STO, prepare
assigned district and facility periodic reports as required by the UHSC
program and Pharmacy Department - Perform any other duties that may be
assigned from time to time as need arises.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Management
Sciences for Health (MSH) Intern – Community Supply Chain job placement
must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Professional qualifications in
RMNCH, logistics and supply management or public health is an added advantage - Demonstrated analytical skills with
computerized packages including Microsoft office packages such as MS Excel - Previous experience with health facility
level logistics management and existing community health programs
involving VHTs is an added advantage - Willingness to be flexible and adapt to
changing priorities and shifting deadlines - Demonstrated strong communication and
reporting skills - Strong teamwork and team-building skills
