to move from crisis to rehabilitation, and eventually, to sustainable living.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Gap Analysis, Project
Planning, implementation and management
  • Identify needs and gaps in sectorial and geographical programmatic
    response in Uganda and explore subsequent programmatic opportunities for
    IsraAID
  • Constantly review, update and complete programmatic protocols and
    ensure that program planning and implementation are conducted in
    accordance with core ethics of intervention;
  • Develop, together with the staff and partners, strategic planning
    for the implementation of the programs
  • Supervise and coordinate the organizational activities and the
    implementation of community-based activities as stipulated in the work
    plan in the bid to give support to children, youth and their families.
  • Act as focal point for the identification and referral of Extremely
    Vulnerable Individuals and People with Specific Protection Needs for
    adequate assistance the settlement,
  • Participate in needs assessments and identification of protection
    gaps including Child protection, SGBV and MHPSS
  • Spearhead community mobilization for the identification and
    recruitment of children, youth and families into IsraAID’s protection
    projects.
  • Facilitate the development of training materials for the CFS
    facilitators and case workers
  • Actively monitor Child Protection program activities at field level,
    ensuring quality and observation of children’s rights
  • Lead discussions with community leaders and beneficiary
    representatives on project review and alterations.
Monitoring,
Evaluations and Learning
  • Support and lead the collection of information/data about
    vulnerability, protection needs and concerns of the targeted population.
  • Review the monitoring and evaluation process for the effective and
    ethical implementation of programs according to set strategic planning, in
    cooperation with all heads of departments
  • Conduct follow-up monitoring visits to ensure that needs have been
    met in an appropriate manner and the beneficiaries have the opportunity to
    provide feedback
  • Keep track of the changes in the beneficiaries’ database and the
    activities
Representation,
partnerships and advocacy
  • Ensure dissemination of clear and reliable information about
    IsraAID’s services
  • Participate in all relevant cluster meetings/gatherings as organized
    by OPM, the District/Government and UNHCR or other institutional agencies
  • In accordance with the Country Director, create and maintain regular
    contacts/partnerships with the relevant governmental authorities of the
    Republic of Uganda, the donor community, the diplomatic community, the
    humanitarian community, the United Nations, and Community-Based Organizations
  • Represent IsraAID on any national platform in the absence of the
    country Director
  • Advocate for the beneficiaries’ wellbeing and the organization at
    large
Capacity Building
  • Ensure that there is improvement of the protection capacity of the
    team to assume their responsibilities vis-a-vis all persons of concern
    through protection training, mainstreaming and related activities
  • Ensure the gradual and effective capacity development in program
    implementation of all programmatic staff, and support all field staff in
    on going and long term programmatic needs
  • Contribute to building the capacities and connectedness of other
    staff members in the country
HQ support and
office management
  • Strengthen and maintain effective planning and reporting mechanisms
    within the office to ensure smooth implementation of programs across
    sectors and locations
  • Effectively monitor budget implementation against programmatic
    targets
  • Work closely with the Country Director and the Finance and
    Administration assistant for budget planning, implementation and financial
    reporting
  • Prepare and submit activity plans, budgets and reports to the
    Country Director
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to the country Director on
    progress, lessons learned, achievements and gaps, issues and problems.
  • Feed the country Director with relevant information for project
    proposal writing
  • Develop and maintain an organizational log of scheduled internal and
    external events/activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a university degree in social sciences
    or other relevant field. (A master’s degree will be an added advantage)
  • At least three years working experience with NGO’s (local or
    international) Familiar with Refugees; settings in Uganda
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in the field of protection
  • Strong writing / reporting skills
