Job Summary: The Director Clinical Services is responsible
for the overall supervision and coordination of activities in the clinic
department of JCRC including adult clinic, ward, pediatric clinic, The Head is
required to ensure that health workers have access to and trained on updated
medical information. The head of Clinical services at JCR will work in liaison
with the Business Development Manager, other health sectors and senior
management to identify strategies for strengthening clinical services both in
quality and as one of the major sources for income generation for purposes of
moving JCRC forward as a self-sustaining entity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic
thinking process for diversification and improvement of clinical services. - Coordinate all units within
the clinical department of JCRC that are directly concerned with the care
of patients at the centre. - Ensure smooth running of
the inpatient and the general outpatient and private clinics of JCRC. - Provide advanced care and
consultations for care of HIV/ AIDS patients from within and outside. - Actively participate in
the development of Strategic and Departmental work plans. - Provide leadership in
supporting the organizational strategic plan in implementing activities in
the department. - Prepare and coordinate
submission of reports as required by the organisation. - Participate in clinical
research as an Investigator and supervise assigned research team members. - Lead the weekly doctors’
forum meetings and ensure that important updated information concerning patient
care is relayed timely and implemented. - Provide and oversee
on-site training for health care providers in-house and other. - Assess, determine, and
advocate for a rationalized optimal workforce requirement for the
department. - Lead the strategic thinking
process for improvement and/ or diversification of clinical services at
JCRC for purposes of widening the income base for JCRC sustainability. - Perform any other duties
as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must
hold a Master’s degree in clinical human medicines such as internal
medicine, pediatrics or an equivalent qualification. - Bachelor’s degree in
medicine and general surgery - PHD is an added advantage.
- Five years of progressive
and professional experience in a hospital setting among which (3) should
have been at the same or equivalent level. - Should have research
experience with publishing record in peer review medical journals. - Excellent interpersonal
and communication skills and team player.
