Job Summary: The Protection
& Gender Officer has a dual role of implementing the WFP Protection and
Gender programme interventions, as well as ensuring protection and gender mainstreaming
across the programme. S/he will be responsible for initiating action in the
areas of protection and gender, identify and deal appropriately with existing
and emerging child protection and gender gaps/issues, and generate ideas for
programming. To provide technical support in relation to relevant child
protection and gender standards; mainstream child protection and gender in all
food programming, and ensure adherence to child protection minimum standards in
humanitarian action (SPHERE Standards) and principles as well as the Prevention
of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse/Code of Conduct.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

opportunity must hold a university degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Human
Rights or relevant field. Certificate courses in IASC Guidelines and key
training packages preferred (Caring for [Child] Survivors of Sexual Violence,
psychological First Aid in Emergencies, CPiE Minimum Standards, and GBV IMS,
International Humanitarian & Human Rights Law Foundations, etc).
The
