Job Summary: The Manager, Retail Sales is tasked with the
overall management and responsibility for Global Markets Retail Sales within
Stanbic Uganda Global Markets. This entails ensuring a strategic and
co-ordinated sales focus on servicing needs of both existing and new business
retail segment clients for Global Markets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
General Sales: Develops and drives Stanbic Uganda’s Global
Markets Retail sales strategy around growing and servicing clients while
ensuring that it is in line with and supports Stanbic Bank Uganda’s broader
strategy.

- Has responsibility for the co-ordinated roll-out of the Global
Markets Retail sales model, including digital channels, within Stanbic
Uganda’s Global Markets with the aim of providing a level of service that
is consistent with Standard Bank Group’s aspirations. - Build Strong Retail client relationships with the objective of
seeking incremental new Global Markets business from existing portfolio
clients. - Liaise with the rest of the Bank in identifying and resolving any
challenges/ queries to drive an excellent banking experience for the
Retail customer base and support a customer centric culture. - Develop sector/ industry expertise to deepen the client advisory
role of Global Markets. - Optimise business turnover and revenue of the assigned portfolio.
New business
- Develop and implement a strategy to pursue and grow a portfolio of
Retail clients that are both New to Stanbic and New to Global Markets. - Support sustainable growth of Global Markets revenue through
continuous diversification of the portfolio revenue streams by leveraging
the Standard Bank product/ solution suite.

- Support the RM’s (Relationship Mangers) in developing relationships
with strategically significant Retail clients to ensure that the strategy
and business objectives of the client and the Bank are achieved. - Work closely with key loan origination teams to ensure appropriate
application of risk management solutions for Retail Clients. - Support the sharing of business leads/opportunities (cross-selling)
within the wider Standard Bank Group to drive the Universal Financial
Services strategy. - Develop a business network with key stakeholders both within the
Standard Bank Group and externally with key industry players with a view
of facilitating growth of the Standard Bank Franchise.

- Send periodic reports on the strategic business drivers,
opportunities, challenges, needs, competition and threats inherent in the
environments/business sectors within which clients operate. - Share periodic market insights of local and international financial
markets trends with clients. - Provide management with reports that demonstrate a good
understanding of both traditional and non-traditional competitors, their
drivers, products, strengths, vulnerabilities, market share/client base
and the impact that these factors have on Stanbic Uganda’s value proposition
to the client base. - Provide periodic reporting to senior management of key business
performance metrics as may be prescribed from time to time and ensure data
integrity of business performance. - Execute all governance documentation for clients within the assigned
portfolio.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Stanbic Bank Manager, Retail Sales job should
hold a tertiary qualification with an appropriate business related degree
or diploma. - ACI Dealing Certificate.
- Three years’ experience in marketing foreign exchange / money market
products and services. - An excellent working knowledge of foreign exchange and money
markets, and an intermediate understanding of other Global Markets
products - A good understanding of macro-economics and current economic trends.
- A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk Management, covering
Operational Risk, Market Risk and Credit Risk. - Global Markets and Banking background.
- Thorough knowledge of the Exchange Control Rules and Regulations
applicable, if any. - Strong networks within the Retail / commercial / government sectors.
- Experience in high-level relationship building and maintenance.
- Good understanding of the Financial Institutions Act.
