is the second largest Public University in Uganda. Since its formation in 2003,
the University has established itself as one of the leading Universities in
Uganda offering a number of academic programmes in line with vocational
education, teacher training, hands-on engineering, special needs training,
social sciences, pure and applied sciences, entrepreneurship and management
that meet the Market remands and development needs of the Country. The
Strategic Focus Areas of the University include: Teaching Learning; Research,
Innovation and Knowledge Generation; Physical Infrastructure, Facilities and
ICT Development; Institutional Development and Strategic Marketing.

Job Summary: The University Bursar will provide leadership
and technical support to the Management Team on proper financial management and
accountability for the financial resources of the University in accordance with
the financial regulations of the University and Laws of Uganda;
and technical support to the Management Team on proper financial management and

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s degree in either Accounting
and Finance or Commerce (Accounting option) or Business Administration
(Accounting option) from a recognized awarding institution/University; - Must possess an Honours Bachelor’s degree in either Commerce,
Accounting and Finance or Business Administration or relevant quantitative
discipline; - Must have Full professional accounting qualification such as ACCA.
CPA or CIMA; - Must be a Member of a recognized professional accounting body like
the institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) or
equivalent; - Diploma in Law or Certificate in Administrative Law is an added
advantage; - Qualifications in Management is an added advantage;
- Should have a minimum of ten (10) years’ working experience
demonstrating increasing levels of responsibilities, professional
experience, and leadership in accounting and financial management in a
reputable organization, five (5) of which should have been served at a
senior management level. - A person with experience in Higher Education Institutions will have
an added advantage. - Age Limit: Between
40 and 55 years of age at the time of application.
