the Kampala HIV/AIDS Protect through its Health Department with funding from
the infectious Diseases institute (IDI) Under the inter Medical Bureau
Coalition, (IBG) the project provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in
Private-Not For-Profit (PNFP) Health Care Facilities (HCFs) in Kampala and
Wakiso Districts.

Job Summary: The Project Pharmacist will be responsible for
providing support for drug management processes within the Kampala HIV/AIDS
Project, collecting, synthesizing and transmitting data & information
related to health supplies utilized by the project. She / he will also
coordinate with Medical Access Uganda, Joint Medical Stores, and National
Medical Stores in order to ensure that there are no ARV stock outs in the HCFs.

execution/implementation, capacity building, quality management, supporting
M&E and ensuring that project objectives and targets are achieved in
alignment with PEPFAR and MOH policies and standards.

M&E and ensuring that project objectives and targets are achieved in
alignment with PEPFAR and MOH policies and standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage supply chain for ARVs, elaboration; re-agents
and drugs for opportunistic infections. - Conduct training of KHP supported HCFs in forecasting drug needs,
procurement, tracking inventory and monitoring pharmaceuticals and other
health supplies. - Ensure that the KHP logistical information system for ARVs, of drugs
and reagents is harmonized with the national system. - Develop, strengthen and integrate ARVs supply systems with HCF
overall pharmaceutical management systems‘ - Set up or strengthen Drug and Therapeutic Committees. Set guidelines
for their operations, monitor and evaluate their impact on pharmaceutical
management systems. - Support HCFs to properly account for all diagnostic and
pharmaceutical supplies‘ - Develop the capacity of HCF pharmacy teams to forecast and manage
Pharmaceutical supplies - Represent UEC in health logistics meetings convened by MQH and other
partners.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a
recognized institution; - Post graduate training in Public Health, Project Management is an
added advantage. - Three years of clinical experience in HIV/AID$ and TB treatment
- Valid registration with the Pharmaceutical Association to practice
in Uganda is a must. - Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HIV epidemic control
and the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals and targets - Comprehensive and current knowledge of HIV and TB treatment
global/national standards policies, guidelines and best practices. - Demonstrated leadership and technical experience, working with
different stakeholders at all levels - Experience in training, mentoring, supervising and managing staff in
a clinical setting - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Self-driven and ability to work independently with minimum
supervision, ability to work under time constraints in order to meet
deadlines - Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate activities and
projects with the ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working
relationships with teams and partners tact and in a level-headed and
effective manner - Excellent computer skills: Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint. Internet, and e-mail)
