Development Initiatives (CIDI) is a National NGO that coordinates and
implements several projects in Uganda. CIDI works at the vanguard of community
development focusing on four thematic areas; water and sanitation promotion,
sustainable agriculture for food and incomes, health promotion, conflict
prevention and peace resolution. CIDI with branches across the country works
amongst the poor and vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas to
improve their livelihoods.
Job Summary:  The M&E and Documentation Officer is
responsible for guiding the overall CIDI visibility and knowledge management
strategy and implementation of M&E related activities within CIDI, plus
providing timely and relevant information to all stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with developing and managing publications that demonstrate
    CIDI‘s results for visibility in form of; Newsletters, Brochures, Reports,
    success stories, Video stories, IECs etc
  • Knowledge gathering and packaging: Identifying sources of
    information, packaging it and establishing platforms for learning
  • Retrieving data from the CIDI Management information system(MIS),
    analyzing, interpreting  and
    packaging it into information
  • Routine update of CIDI website content material and supporting the
    CIDI communication unit in dissemination
  • Participate in conducting filed monitoring visits to the various
    projects and compilation of field monitoring reports
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by
    CIDI Executive Director or his assignees for furtherance of organizational
    goals

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mass
    communication, Social sciences or Statistics. Any post graduate training
    in Monitoring & Evaluation is an added advantage
  • At least three or more years of progressively responsible experience
    in documentation of results and activities for NGOs
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in managing MIS is a MUST
    requirement
  • The person must be self-driven, innovative and able to work
    productively under minimum supervision and should have good writing and
    reporting skills.
  • Computer literacy skills; Ms Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Publisher
    etc.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of databases
  • Be a team player and good interpersonal skills.
  • Personal integrity and concern for standards.
  • Results oriented with focus to program impact.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, planning and communication
    skills
  • In possession of a valid driving permit.
