Job Summary: The coach shall provide support and mentoring to teachers through group-based workshop sessions and some support in school. The coaches will focus on supporting improving teacher wellbeing and building of social, emotional competencies in order to create safe, compassionate and enabling learning environments. The role will be part of an effectiveness study that will be carried out to test CORE to see if it has an impact. The coach will also be responsible for ensuring that the activities are carried out as planned and that findings and differences are methodically documented.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take part in up to one month’s trainings over the duration of the contract which may include some residential training.
- Be responsible for building and maintaining a good relationship with the teachers and management in the school.
- Implement CORE intervention as outlined in the training manuals and training of trainers
- Collect data as requested which may include reflection diaries and fidelity checklists during the duration of the period in the schools and during the facilitation of the workshops
- Take part in any data collection activity as requested by coordinator including focus group discussion and training reflection.
- Support the improved skills and knowledge of teachers on wellbeing which will include social emotional core competencies, stress reduction and self-care strategies.
- If needed provide other support to the research during school holidays which may include the development of new activities and adaptation of methodology.
- Liaise with teachers and headteacher to coordinate timetables and individual reflection sessions, and whole school learnings.
- Undertake process observations in order to support reflection sessions with the teachers.
- Ensure that the activities are carried out as planned and that findings and differences are methodically documented.
