Senior Internal Auditor Job Placement – Uganda Kolping Society (UKS)

The Uganda
Kolping Society (UKS) is a Catholic Social Action Organisation which is
part of the International Kolping Society (IKS), based in Cologne Germany and
founded by Fr. Adolph Kolping. It is a worldwide network of Kolping families
organised variably at Local, Regional and International levels. UKS was
ratified by the International Convention held at Innsbruck as a National
Organization in 1982.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Keenly review financial and accounting systems of operation in UKS
    and its subsidiary companies to ensure that they are adequate, effective
    and conform to the acceptable standards.
  • Inspect / examine organisation’s Accounts to ensure adherence to
    financial rules, regulations, procedures and practice.
  • Identify and report process improvements value added observations
    for audited units that help enhance operational effectiveness, customer
    service quality and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure adequate documentation is maintained to substantiate all
    audit related issues.
  • Prepare reports of audit as well as investigative findings, related
    risks, causes and recommendations for improvement in an efficient, timely
    and concise manner.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to make sure audit findings are
    resolved.
  • Communicate audit findings with Management at the end of audit
    fieldwork through a discussion and through written reports.
  • Make recommendations on the best means for the organization to avoid
    fraud and reduce waste.
  • Asses the best financial practices for the organization and make
    appropriate recommendation

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold an honors degree in Commerce, Bachelor
    of Business Administration (Accounting option) or its equivalent from a
    recognized institution.
  • Professional certifications i.e. CPAU or ACCA
  • At least three years’ experience in a reputable Organisation
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, Leadership skills and
    capable of working with, others; with ability to effectively coach and
    develop subordinates
  • Officer of high caliber, dedication and integrity
  • Capacity to meet tight deadlines with efficiency.
