Job Summary: Exquisite Solution Limited, is seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Officer to join our client’s dynamic team in the oil and gas industry. The Tax Officer will be responsible for conducting tax policy research, overseeing tax planning, managing related party transaction pricing, preparing tax returns, and performing tax health checks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and implement tax policies for the company and Uganda to manage and reduce risks.
- Oversee and ensure accurate submission of tax returns, including income tax, VAT, WHT, and PAYE.
- Review and monitor the company’s tax status, providing advice and taking steps to mitigate potential tax risks.
- Develop and execute tax planning strategies for the company.
- Manage the URA (Uganda Revenue Authority) and EFFRIS systems, and issue invoices accordingly.
- Handle transfer pricing and transactions with related parties.
- Conduct tax training sessions for company staff.
- Serve as the point of contact for local companies and authorities regarding tax matters.
- Participate in both internal and external audits and tax inspections.
- Fulfill obligations related to the company’s integrated management system.
- Perform tasks assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in tax
- management within the Oil and Gas industry, a consultancy firm, or with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing taxation in Uganda is essential.
- Certification and qualifications in tax management is desirable.
- Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure, adapt to changing market conditions, and effectively solve problems.
