About Healthy Entrepreneurs:

Healthy Entrepreneurs (HE) is a social enterprise based in Uganda (and several other countries). HE aims to improve the access to basic health care for people living in rural and remote communities (84% of the population). HE recruits and trains VHTs or Community Health Workers who have entrepreneurial spirits and skills. They pay a commitment fee and are provided with training, tools and products to become Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs), serving their communities by selling reliable and affordable health products and services, educating communities and providing access to a doctor-at-distance (telehealth service). Community Health Entrepreneurs serve their communities with basic health care while earning an income. HE is implementing its franchise model via more than 10,000 Community Health Entrepreneurs (our customers) across Uganda today.

Job Summary:   Our Engagement department is the biggest department in the office. Our area managers and engagement officers and assistants know all our CHEs. They coach them in growing their micro-enterprise and call them for orders and to support them in growing their businesses. They visit regularly to give more training and coaching on new products, engagement and sales activities or necessary skills.

The department is divided into area teams, servicing one specific region in Uganda, for instance, Central, West, Teso & East etc. We are looking for an officer and an intern or assistant for our Teso team, speaking Ateso fluently is a must.

The remuneration is market conform. Applications will be selected based on CV and motivation letter (or other means), interview and assessment. Employees go through a probation period before being confirmed as employee. Employees are  offered a learning journey through our HE Academy, expanding their professional skills and growing personally and professionally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Growing our Community Health Entrepreneurs into successful micro-entrepreneurs
• Boosting their sales (according to targets, in terms of # orders, revenue, retention and loan repayment)
• Build relationships based on trust with CHEs (by way of phone) and coach them effectively
• Empower our CHEs, facilitate constant growth, through ordering and proper financial management
• Report to Area Manager
• Participate in area team meetings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, Education or training or Business, Sales Related fields or alternatively a Diploma in Pharmacy / Nursing/Clinical medicine
• Fluency in one or more of the following languages
  • Ateso
  • Luganda
• Fluency in English both written and verbal
• Computer skills (MS Office)
