Job Summary: The Supermarket Attendant at S&S Enterprise is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting various operational functions on the sales floor. This role is essential in ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience while the store operates efficiently. The Supermarket Attendant works closely with cashiers, floor supervisors, and other team members to ensure that store displays, stock levels, and promotional activities are maintained to the highest standards.
The Supermarket Attendant at S&S Enterprises is a critical role that supports both operational efficiency and exceptional customer service. By ensuring that the sales floor is well-maintained, products are properly stocked, and customers are assisted promptly, the Supermarket Attendant contributes significantly to the overall success and reputation of the enterprise. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products and answering inquiries.
- Ensure that customer interactions are handled with professionalism and courtesy, addressing concerns and escalating issues when necessary.
Store Maintenance and Presentation:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, including product shelves, display areas, and checkout counters.
- Assist with the setup and removal of promotional displays and ensure that all merchandise is properly labeled and arranged.
Stock Management:
- Assist in receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying the accuracy of shipments against invoices.
- Restock shelves promptly and organize stock in storage areas, ensuring product availability and minimizing stock-outs.
- Monitor product expiry dates and assist with the rotation of perishable goods.
Assisting in Transactions:
- Support cashiers during peak periods by helping with bagging, handling returns, and other routine tasks.
- Provide assistance at self-service kiosks or POS terminals when required.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety, security, and health guidelines.
- Follow proper procedures for handling merchandise, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
General Support:
- Assist with routine administrative tasks such as organizing inventory records and contributing to daily reports as directed by supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional certification in customer service or retail operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is beneficial.
