Job Summary: The Site Station Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the petrol station, ensuring smooth functionality, exceptional customer service, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Performance
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Station Operations & Performance
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including fuel and product availability.
- Monitor and maintain automation systems, hygiene standards, and operational targets (UHOT).
- Identify operational issues and escalate repair needs to the Territory Manager.
- Track and manage miscellaneous expenses, including utility payments and security costs.
Staff Management & Training
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of service station staff.
- Manage, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Assign, schedule, and monitor staff tasks and duties.
- Chair team meetings to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing.
- Provide ongoing training on customer service and product knowledge.
Drive Sales & Customer Satisfaction
- Achieve sales targets by promoting fuel, lubricants, LPG, and other services.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve queries professionally.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat visits.
- Monitor site promotions and ensure staff engage customers effectively.
Inventory Control & Financial Management
- Conduct inventory checks and ensure stock availability.
- Report low stock levels and coordinate replenishment orders.
- Handle daily cash collections from attendants and verify amounts.
- Manage banking and prepare daily sales reports for the Territory Manager.
Health, Safety & Security Compliance
- Enforce health and safety protocols, including handling of hazardous materials.
- Participate in safety meetings and report injuries, spills, or hazards promptly.
- Maintain the station’s premises in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition.
- Ensure security of station assets and equipment; report suspicious activity to management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University Degree / Diploma Business Management, Retail, or a related field
Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is highly preferred.
- Cash handling experience.
