Job Summary: Our client is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to generate electric power for use in Uganda and for sale to neighboring countries. The organization is entrusted with the critical mandate of sustainably generating reliable, high-quality, and reasonably priced electricity to drive socio-economic development. This is achieved through the implementation of various projects, including the development of hydroelectric power stations and other renewable energy initiatives.
The job purpose is to assist organize and code inventory items (materials, tools and spares) and proper documentation for easy access, retrieval and reference and for proper management. To keep the inventory items updated at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to financial manual requirements of the inventory management policy
- Label and record all inventory items with item codes in accordance to agreed standards and procedures under the supervision of the stores officer.
- Keep, correct and maintain an updated inventory register.
- Submit monthly and quarterly inventory lists to the stores Officer.
- Receive requisitions from user departments and issue inventory items on the instruction of the stores officer.
- Maintain a register of stock balances on a daily basis for the inventory items
- Participate in the annual stock taking exercise.
- Maintain adequate security and safety of the stores
- Receiving supplies from Suppliers according to approved Purchase Orders in the presence of a technical person/representative from user department.
- Regular verification of inventory items to avoid expiry, and damage.
- Ensure inventory items are well stored and easily accessible, and the store rooms are clean and items put to the right places
- Prepare Good received notes (GRN) for all items received in the stores.
- Remind the users of stock run out for them to raise item request for replenishment.
- Capture the figure of issued items on the bin card, to generate new stock levels
- Ensure that the receipts are properly entered onto bin cards
- Inform the Stores Officer of supplier pending inspection.
- Issue inventory items that have been requested and have the full approval from the relevant authorities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Diploma in Business Administration, Stores Management, Procurement and logistics management and Engineering with relevant/related skills and experience.
Related Job Experience/Qualification: The Experience required to perform this job.
- 3 years’ relevant experience in a related field
- Knowledge in Store keeping in a busy industry store is an added advantage
Additional Skills: In addition to the experience and educational requirements listed above
- Computer literacy in different programs (Excel, Microsoft Word).
- Organisational and interpersonal Communication Skills.
- Training in stores management and materials control is an added advantage.
