Job Summary: AEE is seeking to fill the role of an Accounts Assistant for its programs in Arivu and Terego districts and Busoga Region. AEE is looking for a highly skilled and responsible individual, who can reflect the AEE Core Values – Christian, Evangelism and Discipleship, Accountable, Professional, Teamwork, Partnerships. The individual will be required to Plan and manage all AEE funds, ensure that accurate books are kept up to date and payments are processed efficiently. He/She will have financial oversight of AEE’s programs in both Arivu and Terego districts and Busoga Region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement Financial and Accounting Manual provisions and implement established internal controls
- Take lead in preparation of quarterly and annual Project budgets. Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Prepare payroll, pay staff and remit statutory obligations.
- Maintain properly recorded books of accounts. Ensure up-to-date assets and inventory registers.
- Ensure proper utilization and accountability of funds by all departments. Provide technical and financial support and advice to the Project management team and officers
- Monitor expenditure against budgets to ensure adherence to set limits and to financial policies.
- Ensure timely and cost effective procurement in accordance to organization policy
- Ensure coordinated and cost-effective deployment of Motorcycles and equipment. Oversee the maintenance and repairs of Motorcycles, equipment and premises
- Coordinate logistics, minor works and temporary workers
- Manage petty cash in strict adherence to financial regulations pertaining to petty cash management
- Support in field program implementation as and when requested
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in relevant in a relevant field. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BBA, Bcom). CPA, ACCA level 2 will be of added advantage.
- Three or more years’ experience managing grants.
- Experience working with cross cultural teams
- Excellent critical thinking, oral and writing skills.
- Fluency in English,
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
