African Evangelistic Enterprise – Uganda (AEE-U) is an evangelical Christian, interdenominational, non-profit making, non-Governmental, humanitarian organization that was established in Uganda in 1971 by the late Bishop Festo Kivengere. AEE-U is an affiliate of African Enterprise International (AEI), an international evangelical and development agency operational in 10 African countries. Our mission is to evangelize the cities of Africa through Word and Deed in partnership with the Church
Job Summary: The primary focus of the Program Assistant will be to respond to the needs of communities through the integrated set of activities and indicated in the program documents. Further the Program Assistants will be charged with the responsibility of ensuring proper project start up processes. They will be charged with the responsibility of strengthening relationships with existing community structures, sensitization of program participants, creating after-action-reviews and any other activities as needed. They will be creative, action-oriented and problem solvers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning, developing, and implementing program activities
- Work with the Program Coordinator, Community Facilitators and other program staff to support all aspects of program implementation in the target geographic areas.
- In coordination with the Program Coordinator and other staff plan, implement and monitor all program activities.
- Participate in the development of the Program Design Documents oat the end of the financial year.
Collaboration/Networking
- Establish and maintain good coordination and working relationships with district and sub-county leaders, representing AEE, and soliciting participation in activities where appropriate as and when needed.
- Ensure close coordination and sharing of information with relevant stakeholders such as local government, NGOs and local authorities, as appropriate and advised by the Program Coordinator.
Representation and Coordination
- Support coordination, partnership, and related activities with the relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain close working relationships with sister organizations, and local partners, including representing AEE at local coordination meetings.
- Conduct himself/herself both professionally and ethically in appropriate manner to bring credit to AEE-Uganda and to not jeopardize its values and mission.
Documentation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator, CFs and PMEAL Coordinator to capture data for measuring output and impact of the program; and to ensure accurate and timely flow of information from the field.
- Prepare and submit timely and quality monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports with quality pictures and success stories that will be indicative of program progress during implementation and respond to queries when required.
- Prepare, update and submit DIPs on a monthly basis.
- Compile reports on activities implemented with attendance lists, photos and detailing achievements and challenges encountered if any and possible solutions.
- Maintain proper filing in the office while ensuring hard copies of files are properly tagged. Support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to direct program participants, engaging them as equal partners in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
- Effectively manage the phase in processes in line with the set guidelines.
- Be responsible for CAM activities in his/her area of jurisdiction and ensure 100% CAM correspondences with Child Sponsors.
- Ensure sponsor queries are adequately responded to.
Stewardship
- Ensure proper use of all program assets and resources under his/her control.
- Make timely and proper accountabilities for funds provided to implement program activities.
Key performance indicators (PIs)
- Adherence of AEE policy and mandate.
- Timely, accurate and complete realization of annual and programmatic milestones.
- Correspondences, requests and recommendations timely and accurately managed.
- Budgets managed efficiently.
- Timely, accurate and quality reporting.
- Community and stakeholder’s feedback on performance and facilitation
- Interpersonal relations with team members
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business administration, microfinance, entrepreneurship, economic development, or other relevant fields required from a recognized University.
- Sound Knowledge and experience in adult education and Organizational Capacity Building (OCB) are highly desired.
- Sound Knowledge of savings methodologies-VSLA and CMSG is desirable.
- Experience working in rural settlements is preferred.
- Excellent (English) verbal and written communication skills. Language skills in Lugbara highly valued.
- Strong computer literacy with full knowledge of office/Microsoft 365.
- Strong writing, communication, organization, prioritization and negotiating skills.
- Excellent teamwork abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm as well as a willingness to learn and to be continually adaptive within a dynamic and often self-directed working environment. Willingness to spend much time in the field and work closely with program target groups
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

- This position requires strong community and facilitation skills, reporting, negotiation, presentation, and people management skills.
