Job Summary: HERS-EA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and financial planning and reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
- Process payments, invoices, and reimbursements promptly .
- Manage cash flow and prepare regular financial reports for review.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies for audits and financial reviews.
- Financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring budgets.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and support the financial aspects of grant management.
- Track grant funds, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for easy retrieval.
- Any other duties assigned to you by the Operations & Communications Manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
