About the Company:

NCBA Bank Uganda Limited, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the country’s central bank and national banking regulator.

Job Summary:  The Head of SME/Business Banking will focus on growing the bank’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) portfolio. This includes creating strategies to expand financial inclusion for SMEs and offering innovative banking solutions to meet their business needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute SME banking strategies to grow market share and revenues.
• Work closely with SME clients to understand their financial needs and provide suitable solutions.
• Manage and lead a team of SME relationship managers and officers.
• Design new banking products tailored to SMEs, including loans, payment solutions, and advisory services.
• Monitor the performance of the SME banking segment and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations and policies in SME banking operations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or certification in SME management is preferred).
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SME/Business Banking, including team management experience.
• Knowledge of SME markets and financial products, including working capital financing, trade finance, and digital banking solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
