The Judicial Service
Commission is a Constitutional body established under Article 146 of the
Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, 1995, whose mandate is to recruit
judicial officers and regulate their conduct. The Commission is composed of 9
members with powers to facilitate improving the efficiency and effectiveness of
Justice administration in Uganda. The Commissioners are drawn from persons of
integrity and unquestionable character.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an LLB degree from a
recognized University/ Institution plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal
Practice from the Law Development Center, Kampala Uganda or any other
recognized University/Institution within the East African region. Any
relevant advanced/Post-Graduate qualifications(s) will be of added
advantage. - In addition, he or she should have served as a Registrar or Deputy
Registrar or a judge of a Court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and
criminal matters or a Court having jurisdiction in appeals from any such
Court or has practiced as an Advocate for a period of not less than ten
years before a Court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal
matters - For all the above vacancies, any period during which a person has
served as a public officer holding an office for which qualifications for
an Advocate is required shall be taken into account in calculating the
various period of practice required above. - Age: 35 years and
above.
