Job Title:   Shift Fleet Supervisor

About Organisation:

Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.

Job Summary:  Monitoring the daily tracking and monitoring of company fleet.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitoring all company trucks and making daily reports about their movement.
• Operating and maintaining the GPS system.
• Geofencing the territory in which trucks move.
• Providing customer service to clients.
• Monitoring truck driver’s performance on the road.
• Ensuring strict compliance with company rules and regulations.
• Maintaining the systems database of vehicles, drivers and turnboys.
• Monitoring diesel theft
• Monitoring over speeding.
• Perform roles of transport coordinator in his absence.
• Assist transport coordinator in his daily duties.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education:

• Diploma or certification in computers or electronics or any related field.

Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

• Installation and configuration Of GPS devices.
• Familiarity with automotive systems (for vehicle trackers)
• Basic trouble shooting of electronic hardware.
• Understanding of GPS software platforms.
• Knowledge of mobile networks (2G/3G/4G/5G).
• Basic programming E.g. Java for customizing tracker features
• Basics of wireless communication.
• Ability to interpret GPS data for patterns or trends.
• Ability to identify and resolve GPS hardware or software issues.
• Explaining technical details to non-technical users.
• Writing reports or documentation.
