Job Title: LINK Pathway Lead – Seas of Change project
Organisation: SNV
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
About the Company:
SNV is an international development organisation that applies practical know-how to make a lasting difference in the lives of people living in poverty. We use our extensive and long-term in-country presence to apply and adapt our expertise in agriculture, energy and WASH to local contexts. SNV has annual revenues of over €120 million, and 1300 staff working in 25 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America. We are proud to be a not-for-profit organisation that uses project financing to implement our mission.
About Project:
SNV is designing a program that will work at the nexus of regenerative agriculture (RA) and productive use of renewable energy areas (PURE). It builds on a shared philosophy between SNV and its partners to accelerate the transition towards a more equitable, secure, and sustainable future where people and the planet can thrive. The programme applies an innovative hybrid implementation model where it leverages existing initiatives and expertise within the ecosystem and connects actors to facilitate processes and encourage synergies; it has an overall objective to achieve systems transformation within the RA-PURE nexus space. The programme is therefore not a traditional one but seeks to identify and work with partners already operating within the RA and/or PURE nexus space. SNV seeks to build a movement with and through its partners – in Uganda, but also the wider East Africa region – with SNV’s role being one of facilitation and coordination.
Job Summary: The LINK Pathway Lead is a senior position which involves engaging with partners at high-level to rethink the linkages between regenerative agriculture (RA) and productive use of renewable energy (PURE) systems. The project aims to shift mindsets and drive systems transformation through the three interlinked pathways (Learn, Link, and Leverage). He/she will provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance on the activities and intervention within the LINK pathway. He/she will collaborate closely with other Pathway Leads to ensure coherence in quality implementation and reporting. Work closely with identified program partners and local actors across the targeted regions of Uganda. He/she will be responsible for driving the development and roll-out of the Link agenda which underpins the integration of the RA-PURE nexus thinking into the program. A critical aspect of the program design is that the three pathways will operate concurrently rather than in isolation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Co-design and facilitate cross-sector collaboration by building partnerships, creating dialogue platforms, and implementing strategies to integrate RA-PURE practices among diverse system actors.
- Catalyse ecosystem development by supporting organizations with technical assistance, activating demand through community engagement, and enabling viable RA-PURE business models and partnerships.
- Support financial service providers in enhancing end-user affordability, developing innovative financial products, and raising awareness of available financing solutions among smallholder farmers and agri-businesses.
- Drive mindset shifts and adoption by promoting RA-PURE solutions, utilising early adopters as advocates, and amplifying diverse voices and perspectives in shaping inclusive innovations.
- Advance systems transformation along the Link Pathway by addressing key systemic barriers, such as power dynamics, limited linkages and relationships between RA and PURE, and access to finance challenges on both the demand and supply side, while fostering equitable relationships.
- Facilitate Business to Business interactions and match marking events between partners for improved RA/PURE business ecosystem performance.
- Support collaborations and linkages to RA/PURE service providers to improve access and availability of RA/PURE solutions.
- Facilitate development of activity plans and corresponding budgets to ensure quality and value for money.
- The Pathway lead will provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance on the activities and intervention, collaborating closely with other Pathway leads to ensure coherence in quality implementation and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Agriculture, Energy, Business Administration, Development Studies, Engineering or related disciplines is required.
