Job Summary:   To configure, deploy, maintain and monitor network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, leased lines, VolP systems, VPNs and other infrastructural components to ensure optimal performance.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to network issues and outages promptly, with a focus on meeting SLA targets for response and resolution times.
  • Ensure the bank’s networking components (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls) are operational and optimized for performance, security, and redundancy.
  • Enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, configurations, changes, procedures and policies to ensure effective management and compliance.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance network performance.
  • Ensure BRAC Data Centre Network policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Evaluate technical requirements and proposals for supply, implementation and development of networks equipment and services.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are met and executed according to projects scope by liaising effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage and review network-related SLAs to ensure all network services are delivered within agreed-upon performance parameters, including uptime and response times.
  • Perform root cause analysis on network incidents and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., IT support, security) and other departments to support system integration and ensure cohesive service delivery and adherence to SLA commitments.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly reports for senior Management highlighting network uptime, performance, service level breaches and outlining corrective actions.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance activities on data center and branch network equipment to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors in ICT, Computer Science and any related ICT field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in implementing and managing the network of a sizeable organization.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing & Switching (CCNP R&S)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.
  • Project management qualification and experience will be an added advantage.
  • Strong competency to configure and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and services (LAN, WAN, VPN).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, etc.).
  • Understand principles of network availability, performance metrics and capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and security measures.
  • Strong project management, and risk management abilities.
  • Knowledge of negotiating and managing third-party service providers / vendor SLAs
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4) processes and procedures.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Banking /ICT industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading initiatives.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices.
  • Proficient in creating clear documentation and reports.
  • High degree of problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidimensional/multicultural setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive with strength of character.
  • Ability to remain calm in the face of major pressure/incidents.
  • Team player that exhibits critical thinking and confidence.
