Job Summary:   The Recycling Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting recycling machinery to process recyclable plastic materials. The operator will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality recycling operations while adhering to company standards and safety protocols.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor recycling equipment, including shredders, and extrusion machines.
  • Able to identify material types, Inspect and verify the quality of recycled materials throughout the process to meet company and industry standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, conduct pre-operation checks, and ensure that the machinery and work area are safe and clean.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Sort, load, and feed recyclable materials into machinery while ensuring correct material types and quantities are processed.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, record material usage, and submit daily reports on production metrics.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing production output.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machinery operation preferred
  • Bachelor of Science, High Diploma in Engineering, Ordinary Diploma in Engineering, and Degree in related field will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment, preferably with plastic recycling equipment.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with recycling machinery and plastic material types; ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials as needed; good hand-eye coordination and ease to work with hands.
