Job Title:  Tech Support Officer

Job Summary:  We are seeking a highly skilled TechSupport Officer who will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This role involves responding to queries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in Design, development , and deployment of advanced software (Both Android & Web) solutions that support Kijani Forestry’s operations
• Maintain the software applications, ensuring they meet the required standards for quality, performance, and security.
• Provide frontline support to App & system use issues
• Keep on track all support requests and resolve requests within a reasonable turnaround time.
• Mentor and foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain a feedback mechanism through which tech users can be notified on progress of their support requests.
• Support & participate in the development, customization, and integration of applications that support operational efficiency in agroforestry management.
• Support in ensuring maximum systems uptime of all Tech systems & implement  contingency plans for potential down time.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging information systems threats & maintain  strong cyber security practices, conduct data security focused user trainings + empowerment.
• Execute Tech solutions implementation/roll out ensuring delivery within timelines and budget.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software engineering. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development & implementation
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL databases).

Preferred Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and innovation.
• Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and remote sensing technologies will be an added advantage.
