Job Summary: Operating and maintaining company motor vehicles:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating & maintaining company motor vehicles (as directed) as efficiently as possible.
Filling in journey plans to ensure all trips details are fully captured on time and correctly.
Responsible for the vehicle and the goods there in assigned.
Report and ready for duty at the specific start time and work effectively throughout.
Delivery of goods on time in full and quality condition
Ensure the highest standards of customers service is maintained.
Ensure that health and safety rules and regulations that pertain to your workplace are followed.
Ensure communication of incidents and accidents are reported to supervisors in time.
Maintain general cleanliness of the vehicle.
Work within operating areas as determined by the management and needs of the business.
Must do an inspection of the vehicle and the load before departure and sure of where he is heading to. (Journey plan)
Ensure that right PPE are put on all times.
Report all defects in defect book and must make sure truck in good condition and clean all the time.
Ensure the goods carried match with the invoices, quantity, brand and secure on to the vehicle.
Ensure safe driving on the road, observing all traffic rules and within the required speed limit.
Ensure effective and timely communication at all times.
Verify the load with the distributor on arrival and ensure goods are well received hence driver must be present at the time of offloading.
Ensure documents are signed, stamped and breakages, decants, missing’s well declared (pod)
PODs must be returned within the stipulated time to the right receiving point.
Ensure the asset and the load are secure at all times on the road.
Must verify final destination before departure to avoid wrong deliveries.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum qualification is UCE.
Driving permit for Heavy Goods Class.
5 Years Experience in heavy goods vehicles.
Defensive driving/Smith training
Good knowledge of Uganda roads across all the regions of the country
Preferred Age is between 30 yrs. and 40yrs.
