(m2m) is an international non-governmental organization based in Cape Town, SA,
dedicated to providing education and support to pregnant women and mothers
living with HIV, and preventing mother-to-child transmission. Since its
inception, m2m has reached more than one million mothers in seven countries.
Founded in Cape Town in 2001, m2m is a partner in the United Nations’ Global
Plan towards the Elimination of New HIV Infections among Children by 2015 and
Keeping their Mothers Alive.
Job Summary: The Data Entrant will be part of a pool of
resourceful persons who will be engaged from time to time on temporary
assignments. S/he is responsible for
ensuring timely and accurate data processing and storage of all data and
information, relevant to an assigned project
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routinely check data sources for completeness
- Obtain further information for incomplete documents and update data
whenever necessary - Accurately enter data from source documents/forms into the databases
- Generate and maintain an issue log for data gaps and liaise with the
supervisor to address the gaps - Conduct data cleaning as assigned
- File data sources per the M&E filing system
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the mothers2mothers (m2m) Data Entrant job must
hold a Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g. public health, social
sciences, demography, biostatistics or the like) - Evidence of Additional hands on training, coaching and mentorship in
Monitoring and Evaluation - One year of work experience on development projects where research
and data analysis skills have been applied; - At least 6 active months of experience in the field of Monitoring
and Evaluation - Familiarity with management of information systems, and use of
electronic databases - Good working knowledge of major databases and analytical programs
including MS access, MS excel, STATA, SPSS and Epi Data. - Strong skills in teamwork and networking;
- Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills;
- Self-starter, Results oriented and able to deliver in highly
demanding environment - Strong quality orientation
- Healthy attitude towards work
- Resilient
- Fluent in oral and written English
