Job Summary: GIZ is recruiting a Junior Communications Specialist to support implementation of Communications, Public Relations (PR) and Knowledge Management (KM) tasks at both cluster and project level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Junior Communications Specialist will be responsible for;

• Engages in general day to day tasks e.g communications support, social media engagement, media monitoring, writing and editing, proof reading and events management
• Contributes to the development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of a Cluster Communications, PR and KM strategy.
• Implements cluster KM activities, e.g. gathering, storage and retrieval of relevant information to foster easy and timely access to it, and reduce on duplication.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations, Marketing, or any related field.

Professional Experience

• 2 years of professional experience in the field of communications (media and PR work, events management, social media engagement and internal communication).
• Experience in strategic communication planning, implementation, budgeting, and/or strategy monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience in knowledge management.
• Proven experience in content/media development, writing and/or editorial work and social media.
