Ofagros Limited is an agricultural agency based in Kireka, Wakiso District along Jinja Road in Uganda.
Job Summary: We are looking for a professional Agricultural Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee our organization’s agricultural operations. We are looking for a high performance professional in the field of agriculture, with knowledge in both animal and crop husbandries to work as our Agricultural Operations Manager on a fulltime basis
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Agricultural Operations Manager role is mainly to implement the right processes and practices across the organization.
- The specific duties of an Agricultural Operations Manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, supervising farm progress, procuring material and resources and securing compliance.
- The candidate should be ready to mentor his team members, find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels.
- Ultimately, we’ll trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business.
- Nature of work: This shall be Full time job and no part time shall be allowed.
Personal Requirement
- Must be able to speak the following language, English, luganda, Runyankore rukiga, Kiswahili and any other local language
- Must be having at least 3 years in agricultural extension services or any other agricultural service line
- Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
- Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
- To coordinate with the marketing teams to meet clients and close new deals.
- Purchase farm inputs and materials, plan inventory and oversee client farm operations
- Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
- Formulate strategic and operational objectives
- Examine farm financial data and use them to improve profitability
- Manage farm budgets and forecasts for our client
- Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs
- Recruit, train and supervise farm staffs
- Find ways to increase quality of customer service and experience with the company.
- Shall report to the Chief executive officer directly
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience of not less than 5 years working in the agricultural extension services.
- Proven work experience as Agricultural officer or similar role
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Experience budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with Agribusiness and financial principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership ability for operations level job.
- Outstanding agricultural skills
- Degree in Agri-Business, agricultural management, or related field.
