Job Summary: The Service Head will be responsible for leading and managing after-sales service operations across the company’s branch and workshop network. The role will ensure high workshop standards, efficient service delivery, strong technical capability, customer satisfaction, and effective management of mechanics and service teams across Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all after-sales service operations across the branch network, ensuring consistent workshop quality, service standards, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate two Regional Service Managers Central and Upcountry responsible for workshops within their respective zones, working closely with the Regional Managers.
- Identify service and workshop bottlenecks and implement practical improvements to increase efficiency, throughput, and service quality.
- Manage senior mechanics and mechanic teams, ensuring effective workforce planning, performance management, training, and continuous technical development.
- Plan and coordinate service camps and other after-sales service initiatives to increase customer engagement and service uptake.
- Develop and maintain standardized workshop processes, service procedures, and technical standards across the network.
- Own the warranty process, ensuring timely assessment, processing, resolution, and escalation management.
- Monitor key service performance indicators and take corrective action where workshops are not meeting required standards.
- Travel regularly across branches and workshops to assess performance, support teams, and ensure consistent implementation of service standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 6–10 years of progressive experience in automotive after-sales, workshop, or service management, preferably within the two-wheeler/motorcycle sector.
- Proven experience managing workshops, mechanics, and technical teams at scale.
- Strong technical knowledge and practical understanding of motorcycle/automotive servicing and workshop operations.
- Demonstrated ability to improve workshop efficiency, service turnaround, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to train, develop, and motivate a large mechanic workforce.
- Good understanding of warranty management, service standards, and after-sales processes.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the branch and workshop network.
