Job Summary: The Savings Area Manager leads all regional savings activities for FINCA Uganda to mobilize savings in his/her respective geographic zone and is responsible for designing and implementing strategies for the region to grow savings. He/She will mobilize, monitor and actively participate in the progressive growth of savings in the respective region he/she is assigned and coordinate strategic actions to achieve the overall region savings targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishing institutional savings targets in liaison with the Savings Manager
- Establishing branch savings targets (number of clients, volume of savings, usage, cross selling, etc) at the branch level in liaison with the Branch Managers of assigned branches and developing strategies for achieving them
- In liaison with the Alternative Delivery Channels team and the Savings Manager, establishing savings mobilization goals for the technologies in the assigned regions.
- Establishing a strategic monthly plan of activities with existing and potential savers.
- Implementing strategies and giving guidelines to involve all staff and services in mobilizing savings.
- Helping Marketing Department in designing and implementing promotional campaigns for mobilizing savings
- Supervising the work of savings mobilization in the branches through weekly/monthly meetings and periodic joint field work
- Preparing and submitting weekly activity agendas and reports to the Savings Manager.
- Preparing and submitting bi-weekly progress reports to his/her supervisor and branches in his/her specified region and recommend actions to take to better mobilize savings
- Preparing and submitting end of month reports on achievements of targets and activities to Savings Manager using written reports and periodic meetings
- Collaborating with branches to establish and organize daily and weekly activities to mobilize savings.
- Developing business relationships with institutions that are potential clients and persuading them to save at FINCA.
- Designing and implementing strategies to increase the savings portfolio.
- Providing his/her expertise and technical support in the management of business relationships with various institutions and potential clients
- Promoting savings products, services, and all channels of distribution (Alternate Delivery Channels – POS, Mobile Banking) to clients and institutions.
- Analyzing the market and proposing new locations to install POS Agents.
- Collecting suggestions and complaints from staff and clients and proposing improvements to his/her supervisor.
- Working with the Savings Manager to develop and implement mechanisms to solicit clients (savers) feedback on products and services.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or any other business-related field.
- 3 years’ experience in Savings Mobilizationand Sales and Marketing in a Financial institution
