Job Summary: The Data Entry Officer will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining data in various computer databases. The role will also involve managing and maintaining effective records, organizing files, and ensuring that information is properly captured and maintained for future reference and use.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile rejected transactions and ensure that all rejections are accurately reviewed and accounted for.
- Un-apply the initial remittances where necessary to facilitate the correction and proper allocation of payments.
- Re-apply remittances based on the actual remittance received and the correct allocation of the payment.
- Identify rejections against specific invoices and ensure that the relevant information is correctly captured and updated.
- Enter and update data accurately in the relevant computer databases and systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to ensure that information can be easily retrieved and used when required.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files in an orderly manner.
- Review entered information for accuracy and completeness and identify any discrepancies that require correction.
- Perform any other data-entry and record-keeping duties related to the role as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Prior experience in data entry, records management, finance, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Excellent working knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and records.
- Ability to work with large volumes of information while maintaining accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A background in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage
