About Organisation:

The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization. IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis. Our studies have led to over 300 publications and have impacted on the management of infectious diseases in Uganda. IDRC currently manages over 41 Grants with an annual budget of $11 million. IDRC was established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of Health.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the training and pre-test of tools.
• Administer informed consent and conduct and complete interviews per the study protocol
• Collect cost data through key informant interviews, document review, data extraction and observation.
• Participate in data management processes, including validation, to ensure quality data
• Participate in daily debriefs to provide updates, including interviews completed and any other important information about the survey
• Maintain confidentiality and security of data
• Maintain safe custody of all study materials
• Execute any other duties assigned by the project coordinator or study investigators.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• MASTERS : Health Economics or Public Health – Added Advantage
• GCP and HSP Certificates – Optional

Skill & Experience:

• Strong skills in health economic evaluation, cost data collection, key informant interviewing, document review, data extraction and data quality assurance – Mandatory
• Excellent Analytical skills – Mandatory
• Organisational and Communication skills – Mandatory
• Health Research Experience, economic evaluation, supervision of field activities and data collection – Mandatory
• Data Management Proficiency – Mandatory
