About Organisation:
Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessing and planning nursing care for in- patients.
- Taking vital observations that is temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, BMI on daily basis.
- Alerting the Doctors on any unique concerns or complaint regarding patients.
- Perform nursing procedures for example; wound dressing, ear syringing, cannulation, bed making, damp dusting, sterilization, drug administration.
- Provide Emergency response together with ambulance driver.
- Report writing and documentation.
- Ensure safety and proper keeping of clinic equipment
- Participate in all health promotion activities & Continuous Medical Education.
- Any other official duties as may be assigned by the Director Medical Services.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Uganda Christian University
- Should have graduated not more than five years ago.
- 1 Year work experience in a clinic setting will be an added advantage.
- Literacy in ICT and competency in MS Office and PowerPoint.
- Excellent Customer service skills
- Responsiveness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Should be a committed and practicing Christian.
