Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Branch Manager will lead operations in one of Lapaire’s Optical Centers in Uganda.
  • This is a key leadership role, responsible for branch performance and also for driving new growth strategies, strengthening B2B partnerships, and boosting B2C sales.
  • The Branch Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and Area Managers, managing a team of Sales Representatives and an Eye Specialist (Optometrist or OCO).
  • Know & Own the Business and serve its customers
  • Knowledgeable about products and their benefits, as well as about customers’ needs
  • Increase brand notoriety and awareness around clear sight to all potential customers
  • Drive the growth of sales, achieve and surpass sales targets
  • Engage in Business Development, gather market intelligence and insights
  • Lead and inspire a team
  • Build and train a solid and united team, by sharing knowledge and sales experience, foster a great culture, and drive sustainable business growth
  • Manage, motivate, inspire and support the team in their daily work, allocate tasks, lead meetings with them
  • Support the team to hit and surpass the targets – vision tests done, cash collected and net promoter score (customer satisfaction)
  • Manage Branch finances & stock
  • Keep finances up to date, recording all deposits & purchases
  • Ensure excellent stock management, loss & shrinkage prevention
  • Prepare finance reports to the management team
  • Maintain a clean & presentable shop

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ proven experience in business, retail, or branch management.
  • Demonstrated success in
  • driving sales growth, managing teams, and implementing performance-boosting strategies.
  • Strong background in customer service and business operations.
  • Proficient in financial reporting, data analysis, and tools such as Excel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary: We’re hiring a Loan Officer at Baikal Financial Services Ltd in Kampala, Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Loan Origination & Appraisal:

  • Identify, appraise, and recommend viable loan applications for approval.
  • Conduct thorough credit assessments and verify customer, business, and collateral information.
  • Ensure loan applications comply with company credit policy and risk guidelines.
  • Disburse approved loans accurately and in a timely manner.

Portfolio Management:

  • Manage and grow an assigned loan portfolio within approved risk limits.
  • Monitor loan performance and maintain high portfolio quality.
  • Identify early warning signs of default and recommend corrective action.
  • Track delinquency trends to minimize Portfolio at Risk (PAR).

Field Operations:

  • Conduct field visits to assess business viability and confirm loan purpose.
  • Verify customer residence, business premises, and guarantor details.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
  • Follow up on early arrears before accounts deteriorate.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and referral networks.
  • Educate customers on loan terms, obligations, and repayment schedules.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure fair, ethical, and transparent dealings with all customers.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly loan appraisal and portfolio reports.
  • Ensure compliance with credit policy, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all loan files.

Fraud Prevention:

  • Identify suspicious or fraudulent loan applications.
  • Verify customer information diligently during appraisal and disbursement.
  • Report suspected fraud immediately and support investigations when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, — Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in loan origination, credit analysis, banking, or microfinance is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve performance targets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Valid riding permit is mandatory.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
