Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Compliance:

HSE:
- Demonstrate personal commitment to the HSE Policy;
- Promote safety awareness at all levels within frame of responsibility;
- Proactive promoter of the 12 Golden Rules as well as actively participates in Company Safety awareness campaigns;
- Ensure proper and effective internal controls and safety standards are in place for drilling & wells materials transportation;
- Organize follow up of HSE anomalies and events reported by throught the activities; monitor corrective actions to be implemented;
- Participate in the definition of the Department’s Safety and Environment objectives and the directions in which progress can be made including possible risks reduction steps;
- Contribute and apply HSE MS bridging documents for drilling & wells materials transportation.
Planning, Procedures and KPIs:
- Lead and suggest resources definition for drilling & wells materials transportation:
- o Oversee planning process to ensure achievement of operational objectives;
- o Monitor and optimize the cost of the activities.
- Understand, apply and review/propose improvement for all operational procedures related to roads and pads maintenance as per Company rules and standards.
- Follow-up the KPI’s indicators for drilling & wells materials transportation; participate in the definition, implementation and monitoring of action plans.
Operational Leadership & Continues Improvement:
- Openly question established practices to achieve continuous quality and cost optimization improvements;
- Identify and adopt creative and alternative approaches to problem-solving and encourage others to do the same;
- Provide support in the priorities definition and accomplishment of logistics associated activities;
- Promote the waste management “5R principles” hierarchy, i.e.: Reduce, Recover, Reuse, Recycle, Residue disposal ;
- Optimize the resources and operations in line with the 3C principles and LEAN methodology;
- Participate in the required audits.
D&W materials transportations:
- He is one the focal point for rig move preparation and cargo and passangers transportations;
- Participates in the permit to work meetings and guarantees that routine operations are covered by specific procedures;
- Manages and ensures TEPU related QA/QC requirements are applied and implements all necessary processes to ensure that D&W equipment and materials are available on time, in proper working condition and have passed the necessary QA/QC requirements;
- In liaison with D&W Superintendent, Contractors and Warehouse team, defines inspection requirements for stock and non-stock equipment;
- Ensures that all equipment and materials stored at DSB/Tangi are managed correctly (stored, lifted, returned, inspected, assembled, tested,);
- Ensures that appropriate handling and packing is provided for the preparation of baskets and containers used for the transfer of all material / equipment required on Operational Sites, with an emphasis on the application of safe systems and methods;
- Ensures correct coordination and interface with Company / Contractors representatives on Drilling pads and operational sites for all equipment / material requirements on a short- and medium-term basis;
- Determines transportation priority and accept / validate manifests for/from Drilling, Logistics and Construction equipments on/to operational sites;
- In liaison with Lifting Supervisor, participate in Lifting & Handling preparations and realization; control and follow-up of the Tangi Cargo Transport operations with regards short and medium terms daily activities including Rig Moves;
- Follows up the inventory for Company owned and rental equipment from Contractors.
Materials Management:
- Contribute into regular monitoring and reconciliation of all physical stock held at Company sites;
- Whenever required, liaise with TEP Uganda entities (Field Operations, Drilling and Completion, Projects, etc.) technical Administrators (TADM) for reduction of stock.
Personnel Management and competencies development:
- Facilitate required trainings (defined by the Method Department) of logistics personnel and sources allocation to ensure Logistics operations;
- Carry out appraisals of Company subordinates in accordance with Company procedures;
- Maintain and demonstrate own competency through LSO CAP (Competency Assessment Programme);
- Whenever required, act as a coach for the logistic teams.
Reporting and Investigation:
- Ensure line management kept informed on relevant issues which could affect safety, operational and commercial aspects of the operations;
- Maintain records and statistics to ensure accurate reporting, follow up KPIs and CPIs related to the Shared Support Services operations; these records will be used for cost allocation and invoice verification;
- Prepares D&W Materials weekly & monthly reports and any other ad-hoc reports when requested by the management.
IT tools in logistics:
- UNISOL (ERP) active user (as per defined business role and applicable transactions).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Qualification: Degree in bachelor’s degree in Logistics discipline or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in operational Drilling (tooling) and Logistics with strong knowledge in Oil and Gas industry.
- An analytical mind, organizational rigor, holistic approach, tenacity, capabilities to demonstrate good leadership within a team to produce a safe, efficient well run through operations; ability to adapt, to analyse problems and communicate with many entities.
- Knowledge / understanding of current legislation pertaining to Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Waste Management, Dangerous Goods.
- Ability to work on own initiative, remaining self-confident and solid under pressure, demonstrating logical thought patterns, high degree of organizational ability and be an effective communicator at all levels.
- ERP: knowledge of SAP (SCOT and UNISUP/UNISOL – MM and RLM modules) is a plus.
- Confident user of MS Office products and OS Windows.
