Job Summary: The Cluster Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and management of project activities within a designated geographic or thematic cluster. The role ensures that field-level operations are executed efficiently, align with the project’s strategic objectives, and adhere to organizational standards. The Coordinator serves as the primary link between the field teams and the central management, ensuring smooth communication, resource management, and reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cluster, ensuring activities are implemented according to the work plan and budget.
- Ensure the timely delivery of project outputs and outcomes within the assigned cluster.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks and challenges in the field.
Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of field staff (including MEL Officers, IT Officer, Admin, and Drivers) within the cluster.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure staff adherence to organizational policies and codes of conduct.
Coordination & Representation:
- Serve as the primary representative of the project in the cluster area.
- Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, partner organizations, and beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with other clusters to ensure harmonized approaches and avoid duplication of efforts.
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to the Project Manager.
- Contribute to the development of donor reports and project proposals.
- Facilitate effective internal communication between the field and the head office.
Logistics & Administration:
- Oversee the utilization of project assets, vehicles, and supplies within the cluster.
- Ensure that administrative and financial procedures are followed correctly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with significant experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in project coordination, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to manage teams and budgets. Excellent report-writing skills.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and [Local Language] is required.
