Job Summary: Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are currently seeking to recruit a Utilities Artisan, based at our Namanve Plant in Kampala.

As a Utilities Artisan, you will report directly to the Utilities Controller.

Key Purpose Statement.

The Utilities Artisan will be responsible for ensuring efficient performance, availability, reliability, safety and maintenance of utilities equipment within the plant. The role focuses on asset care, preventive and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement of systems supporting production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational & Technical Support; Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utilities systems through effective troubleshooting, timely breakdown response, quality repairs, and strong technical support to production operations.
  • Maintenance & Asset Care; Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities while applying structured problem-solving and good maintenance practices to improve asset reliability, reduce repeat failures, and sustain long-term equipment performance.
  • Continuous Improvement; Support continuous improvement initiatives through defect identification and elimination, loss reduction and participation in root cause analysis (RCA), formal failure analysis and profit improvement projects.
  • Coaching & Team Support; Promote teamwork and operational effectiveness by supporting colleagues, sharing technical knowledge, and assisting during breakdowns and shutdown activities.
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance; Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, environmental, and maintenance standards while embracing the proven best working practices.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience.
  • Minimum Three (3) years relevant working experience within an FMCG environment.
  • Certification in Boiler Operation or Ammonia-based Refrigeration Systems will be an added advantage.
  • Competencies.
  • Strong analytical & diagnostic ability; able to identify patterns and solve complex technical problems
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills; quickly diagnose and resolve equipment faults.
  • Resilient and high-energy; performs effectively under pressure in a manufacturing setting.
  • Self-driven and proactive; takes ownership and delivers with minimal supervision
  • Agile and fast learner; adapts quickly to new technologies and processes
  • Leadership and coaching capability; able to influence, guide, and build team capability
