School for Life Foundation (SFL) formerly United Future Foundation Uganda (UFFU), is a not-for-profit organisation that operates 03 schools in Mpigi district, delivering holistic education to primary and secondary students in two campuses located in Mbazzi and one in Katuuso. Job Summary: The Tertiary Pathways Officer supports secondary school graduates to transition into university, vocational training, or employment by providing career guidance, mentorship, and practical application support. Coordinates programs, partners with schools and institutions, and tracks outcomes to ensure young people move into clear, achievable pathways beyond school.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Secondary), Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related field.
- Have a strong understanding of Uganda’s tertiary education landscape, including admission processes, course requirements, and key public and private institutions.
- Demonstrate proven ability to implement programs effectively, including coordinating activities, managing logistics, and delivering results in dynamic or evolving environments.
- Exhibit high levels of initiative, reliability, adaptability, and strong communication skills, alongside a genuine passion for youth development and education pathways.
- Possess strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage documentation, student records, schedules, and multiple priorities efficiently.
- Have at least two years of hands-on experience in education or youth-focused programs, particularly in secondary-to-tertiary transition initiatives, school- based programs, NGO education projects, or TVET-related work.
- Demonstrate practical experience working directly with secondary school graduates through career guidance, mentorship, scholarship support, or placement into universities and TVET institutions.
- Have experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders such as schools, tertiary institutions, service providers, and community partners to drive collaborative activities.
- Demonstrate strong monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills, including the ability to collect and analyse data, track beneficiaries, and produce clear reports using tools such as Excel or similar platforms.
- Possess experience in training or facilitation, particularly in delivering sessions on career readiness, life skills, or transition support for young people.
