Job Summary: The Stock Controller, will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, well-organized storage environment and coordinating with store managers and other managers to guarantee smooth operations. This role is vital in preventing shortages/ stock-outs, minimizing losses, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations with timely customer deliveries.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records, including stock levels, movements, and discrepancies in both the system and physical.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the ordering team to reorder items in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper organization and maintenance of stock to ensure proper handling and easy accessibility.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records, investigating and reporting any discrepancies.
- Track damages, or losses and report discrepancies to management.
- Assist in preparing stock reports, forecasts, and inventory analyses for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and storage regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve stock-related issues efficiently.
- Work closely with operations, finance, and purchasing teams to maintain efficient stock flow.
- Inspect and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes for quantity and quality.
- Monitor and track slow-moving or obsolete stock and propose appropriate actions to prevent financial losses.
- Continuously improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize stock availability Work closely with store staff, sales teams, and management to align stock levels with business needs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in procurement, logistics, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience in stock management, inventory control preferably in the tile, sanitaryware, ceramics and construction sector or related filed.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (Tally or similar).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
