Tembo Steels (U) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of quality steel products in Uganda (East Africa). Our office is situated at crane chambers, 8th floor, Kampala with production plants in Lugazi and Iganga.
Job Summary: Implement OSH policies & procedures Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits Ensure compliance with safety regulations Investigate incidents & recommend corrective actions Conduct safety training & awareness Enforce use of PPE & maintain safety records Liaise with regulatory authorities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement OSH policies & procedures
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate incidents & recommend corrective actions
- Conduct safety training & awareness
- Enforce use of PPE & maintain safety records
- Liaise with regulatory authorities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role (manufacturing preferred)
- Certification in OSH is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan
- OSH laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, analytical & problem-solving skills
- High integrity & attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure & enforce compliance
- Strong leadership & training skills
